PHOENIX - Prospect Wire's West Coast Finals is following in similar footsteps to the Florida State Finals. In year 3 of the WCF, Prospect Wire registered their 73rd and 74th team on Thursday - eclipsing last year's total of 67.
"We're truly humbled at the support we are receiving nationally," national tournament director Brian Werner said. "People are recognizing our intentions to help players, they are recognizing the organization and effort that we put into it, and it honestly feels good for people to show their support for us and participate in our events."
The West Coast Finals will be run June 14-18, 2013 at the Chicago Cubs Fitch Complex, Gene Autry Complex and Red Mountain Complex in East Phoenix/Mesa, AZ. The event is highlighted by top programs AZ Baseball Club/Dodgers Scout Team, AZ Angels, AZ Pilots, AZ Athletic, So Cal Bombers, So Cal Elite, Team Nutty Buddy, Show Baseball, Colorado Baseball Academy, So Cal Victory, and more. In all, teams will be participating from the states of California, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Texas, Utah, Colorado, and Hawai'i.
"We feel it's a true west coast championship and we are excited to see it grow each and every year," PW founder Matt Bomeisl said. "Making the transition out west hasn't been easy, and there have been some bumps in the road, but we feel this will be our best one yet. We can't wait to get started."
Participating teams will also take part in Prospect Wire's exclusive combine process to gather additional critical player information on all participants.
