PW to Unveil Player Rankings in August
By: Matt Bomeisl |

TAMPA - In April of 2010, our staff at PW made "the decision" to "take our talents" nationally.  That decision has caused changes in our website, and one of those changes was the temporary removal of our player rankings.  Our player rankings were a very popular feature on our website because they do not rank players strictly for Major League Baseball, but rather they were collegiate styled rankings with more of an emphasis of guys who could play the game right now.  The feature was also popular amongst college coaches and pro scouts, as it gave them a watchlist of players that they may never have heard of.

We at Prospect Wire are proud to announce that our rankings will be returning and unveiled in late August.  Our staff has been out all over the country scouting the top end events this summer, and after our Florida State Finals 18U tournament, the East Coast Pro and other events in August, our staff will hold a rankings "summit" and get to work.  Input and opinions from at least a dozen quality baseball people will be put into the mix until we get a good list.  As always, the ranking are just an opinion and always an ongoing thing.  Stay tuned.
