Florida State Finals: Status Updates for Players & Parents
By: Brian Werner | brian@prospectwire.com

TAMPA - Coaches, Players & Parents:

As of today, all registrations are finalized for the Florida State Finals and no further teams are expected to be added.  In an effort to better communicate the status of the Florida State Finals, please continue to check back here on our site for information as it becomes available.  Here are some target dates for teams to be aware of:

Thursday May 16th at 9:00 pm - Deadline for coaches to make special schedule requests in writing.

Monday May 20th - POOLS will be filled and 1st draft of schedule will be produced.

Wednesday May 22nd - Coaches will receive copy of schedule for review.  Coaches will have a few days to review and get back to us with any issues.

Monday May 27th - Schedule to be finalized and posted to the Prospect Wire website as OFFICIAL (Tentative goal date)

Saturday June 1st - Coaches must have rosters submitted WITH GPA included.  *Coaches can add to their rosters, or delete players up until the start of their 1st game, but a working roster must be entered into the system by June 1st.

A list of tournament rules & regulations for players & parents will be posted on the website in the upcoming week.  Items such as coolers, weather, tie-breakers, tournament format, etc will be explained.  Please stay tuned for those updates.  If parents have any questions, please touch base with your coaches, who will in turn talk to the Prospect Wire staff.  *As with any Prospect Wire event, it should be noted that once weather plays a role in the event's schedule, all requests & potential format are subject to change, including the loss of Pool Play Games & Consolation Games.  While Prospect Wire will make every effort to run a full tournament, we cannot control the weather and will adjust accordingly should it come into play.

About Brian Werner

Shortly after, Brian served as the Director of Baseball Operations and Scouting for the New York Yankees from 1999-2004. In his time there, Brian assisted with draft preparations, processed scouting reports, maintained the Yankees pro scouting database, and served as the main contact between scouts in the field and the VP of pro scouting. In 2008, Brian caught on with Prospect Wire. Brian has since served in multiple capacities for PW from scouting to organizing events.
