Day 3: WWBA 17U
By: Micah Posey |

Marietta, GA - The best arm I saw all day was Jonathon Holder. Holder is a 2011 RHP that plays with Marucci Elite 16's. Holder has a full wind up (over the head) delivery that looks identical to Curt Schillings delivery. Holder's fastball was 86-89 Mph. The ball would often come off the side of his hand creating good arm side run. Holder would show 2 above average off spead pitches. He would throw a 12-6 curve with lots of depth. The best way to describe his curveball is "HAMMER". Throws a straight change which is effective with his good arm spead.

The most interesting pitcher today was Alex DeBellis from NJ Mariners/Jaguar Scout Team. DeBellis is listed on the roster as pitching being his 3rd position. His fastball was 87-90 mph with lots of life. Threw a cut slider that would be flat at times. He did throw a lot off good hard late breaking sliders at 75-79 mph. DeBellis is definately raw with his delivery which features a head jerk at the end. This kid has a bulldog mentality and will need some work but the stuff is there.

Houston Kyle Chapman's Wayne Taylor looked good today at the plate. Taylor is a catcher that swings a left handed stick. At 6"1" 190 lbs taylor is very athletic. He features a nice short swing with some power. Did pull off the off spead a litle today. I didnt get a pop on him as he was DH the game I saw him

The best catch and throw guy I saw today was Ray Toto. At 6"0" 200 lbs Toto had a cannon of a arm with a good transfer. Received the ball well setting up low with a good low target. I had his pop at a 1.95. In the batters box he takes healthy hacks. has good bat speed. His ticket will be his catch and throw complemented with his frame.

The best lineup I saw all day was that of the Dallas Yankees. This lineup is the second best lineup I have seen here right behind FTB Mizuno. My favorite player in the Dallas Yankee's lineup is Matthew Dean. Dean put himself in the running with the best bat speed ive seen here. Right now its a three way tie between Dean, Winker(FTB Mizuno), and Biaz (EC Braves). Dean is a physical player that plays at shortstop. Dean features some good hands at short. Tonight Dean hit the hardest ball I have seen hit in the last 3 days. At 11:30 PM, In the last and only game being played, Dean came up in his final AB after striking out in his previous at bat. In his final AB he would hit a homerun on field two that I would say is a 400 ft plus HR. He hit it over the monster in left (20 ft fence) and over the trees (another 10 to 20 ft above the fence). Mind you he hit it with wood.
