BPA Showing A Strong Presence In The Tampa Area
By: Corey Goldfarb |

Tampa - Prospect Wire will be covering BPA's Prospect ID Camp on Sunday Nov. 10.

BPA or Baseball Pros Academy was started by baseball lifer Andy Barkett who is the current AA manager of the Jacksonville Suns an affiliate of the Miami Marlins. Barkett runs the Orlando based BPA teams that feature one 18U and two 16U teams in Orlando.

One of Barkett's Jacksonville Suns coaches helps run the newly formed Tampa area BPA teams with Mickey Rivera. The Tampa area BPA teams already have one 16U and one 18U and are forming a 14U team as well.

With as much baseball knowledge as BPA's staff has, I'm sure they'll begin to make some noise in PW tournaments as well as other national tournaments.  As evidence, BPA made the Final Four in PW's Fall Natl Championships at the end of October in their first ever Prospect Wire event.

BPA will be conducting a Prospect ID Camp at Sanford Memorial Stadium in Sanford Fl, this weekend Nov. 9-10. Day 1 will consist of an introduction, a pro-style workout, 60 yard dash and bullpens. Everything starts at 3pm but get there early if you haven't already registered. The day will end around 8:30pm.

Day 2 will be one on one instruction from college coaches and then games. The day starts at 10am with instruction and ends with games played until around 3pm.

There are more than 20 college coaches and professional scouts planning to attend BPA's Prospect ID Camp.

Address for Sanford Memorial Stadium:

Mellonville Ave

About Corey Goldfarb
Corey Goldfarb has an extensive background in all levels of baseball. Before Corey's hiring at Prospect Wire, he worked as an agent and advisor to over 25 current professional athletes. Of those 25 players, 5 of them were drafted in the first round of the MLB Draft and one of them was the #1 prospect in the country out of high school. Corey's ability to evaluate talent helped him identify the right players to target and recruit. Corey played a key role in building one of the best young sports agencies in baseball. Prior to his 10 years as an agent, Corey worked in different aspects of Minor League Player Development for the Marlins and Yankees.
