Round Robin Classic: Combine Schedule

Mesa - The following schedule is the combine schedule for each team in the upcoming July 9th Player Combine in Mesa, AZ.  The combine will give players a chance to get their skills tested in areas not always seen during a game.  The combine takes place at Gene Autry Complex, Field 1 starting at 8 am.  Players should come with their teams, and be prepared to stretch their legs when they arrive.  

1.)  60 Yard Dash

2.)  OF's will make 4 throws to Home from RF area with throws being radar gunned

3.)  3B/2B/SS will get 4 grounders at SS position with throws being radar gunned

4.)  1B will make 3 throws to 3B to show footwork & arm, with throws being radar gunned

5.)  Catchers will get pop time recorded and throws will be radar gunned

6.)  Players will get 5-6 swings off tee to test ball exit speed (how hard they hit the ball)

About Brian Werner
After pitching 2 years at Clemson University and making an appearance in the College World Series, Brian finished his baseball career at the University of South Florida. Shortly after, Brian served as the Director of Baseball Operations and Scouting for the New York Yankees from 1999-2004. In his time there, Brian assisted with draft preparations, processed scouting reports, maintained the Yankees pro scouting database, and served as the main contact between scouts in the field and the VP of pro scouting. In 2008, Brian caught on with Prospect Wire. Brian has since served in multiple capacities for PW from scouting to organizing events.
