NextGen FL State Championships Comes to Orlando
By: Brian Werner | brian@prospectwire.com

Tampa - Over the last few years, Prospect Wire has continued to see positive growth in their "NextGen" Division (14/13u). Still in just it's "infant" years, the NextGen (formerly Futures) Division has seen some talented kids come through over the years.  As the division has progressed, so have the events.  This past year, the NextGen Division got their own "Scout Days" in both California & Arizona.  They were successful events, enjoyed by all that attended.  Many of the coaches and players loved the format & the attention all to themselves.

Now Prosepct Wire is taking it even further.  NextGen Youth is taking center stage, along side our NextGen Division of 14U/13U teams for the 1st ever Prospect Wire Florida Youth State Championships.  For the first time, Prospect Wire will open up #TurfCity (Seminole County Sports Complex in Sanford, FL) to 10U-12U teams, as they will battle in a 3 game guarantee for a State Championship, the first of it's kind for PW.

"We have over 30 teams registered at this point, and for 3 of them, they will get to say they were the 1st NextGen FL State Champ," said Prospect Wire President Matt Bomeisl.  "It's gonna be pretty cool, to see these young kids out there competing on the same fields that some very talented players played on this past summer."

For Prospect Wire, it was more than just running an event for youth teams.  "We marketed to coaches in NextGen last Spring how we wanted to change a culture in travel ball.  To alter the "cookie cutter" type events that everyone attends week after week," stated Tournament Director Brian Werner.  "Baseball at this age should be about a child's development on the field, without question.  But they still need to have fun & remember it's just a game still. Competing is fun. We are not focusing on points or rankings right now. We want to provide an atmosphere where these kids can feel like rockstars, because they will be covered on social media and get the full Prospect Wire treatment that so many 18U-15U kids got to experience this past summer."

Some big name teams will be on display next weekend in Sanford, FL.

10U Teams Attending include: Evoshield FL, IBA Mustangs, Kangaroo Court, TBSA Patriots & Team KRUSH & more...

12U Teams Attending include: CBC Team Wilson, Evoshield FL, IBA Mustangs, Kangaroo Court, Rawlings FL Generals, SDA/Inferno, TBSA Patriots & Team KRUSH

14U/13U teams include: Apopka Lightning, Baseball Plus, ChandlerWorld, East Coast Raptors, Edge Baseball, Evoshield FL, FL Breakers, Gatorball, IBA Mustangs, Kangaroo Court, LA Dodgers Scout Team & Ostingers

Games being Friday evening, Sept 23rd and go thru Sunday the 25th.  You can follow all the action via Trackman Scoreboard on our website (free to create an account and follow) - as well as on our NextGen Twitter & Instagram Accounts: @PWNextGen
